Description
For sale is this SPONGEWARE base, pedestal or what? If you know what it is, please let me know. I believe it is from the late 1800's or early1900's. I do not know the maker of this piece. It has the appearance of some of the Byrd Pottery / Stoneware from Texas. Measures approx. 4-3/4" dia. at the top rim x 4" dia. at the foot x 5-1/2" high.NOTE: Last two photos were taken indoors.
CONDITION:
I would consider this piece to be mint.
There are NO chips, cracks, hairline cracks or repairs.
It has the usual manufacturing characteristics found on OLD salt glaze stoneware (i.e., pits, pops, glaze skips, rubs, runs, bubbles, glaze separations, staining, crazing, and wrinkles & lines in glaze).
PLEASE VIEW PICTURES CLOSELY FOR DETAILS & CONDITION AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. Guaranteed OLD & AUTHENTIC and NOT A REPRODUCTION.
Please email for questions or more photos prior to bidding.
I have a 100% eBay rating so bid with confidence and don't let this GREAT piece of history get away from you. It will look really nice on display with the rest of your collection.
