    I have two badges of the 238 Forestry Battalion, one a "sweetheart's badge" in enamel, THIS ONE an enlisted ranks cap badge (both listed currently on eBay.Ca.) along with a MEMORIAL CROSS that was probably awarded to the NEXT OF KIN of Private S.L. Millar # 1037646 CEF 238 FORESTRY Battalion

    History of the
    CEF 238 FORESTRY Battalion
    The Battalion was raised in Ontario and Quebec with mobilization headquarters at Valcartier under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916.
    The Battalion sailed September 11, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel W.R. Smith with a strength of 44 officers and 1,088 other ranks.
    In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the Canadian Forestry Corps.
    It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
