pre ww1? canadian 71st (york Regiment?) leather sword carry bag

Description

This is an original Canadian, maybe pre ww1 , leather sword carrying bag, it is marked 71st ( York regiment ?)and also the name of a soldier ( very faint) i cannot make it out.. It also has the inside liner. The bag is in fair condition, there is some damage ( photos) , but overall an interesting piece of Canadian military history , it would make a nice display
