    Description

    Pictured is an early sponged decorated yellow ware cover for a covered casserole dish offered for sale.  The sponging combines both an olive green & a tan coloration.  Produced by Morton Pottery in Morton, Illinois, an item in their Woodland series of serving items.  The double handled cover serves as a serving dish as well when inverted.  It measures 7 1/4" in diameter without the handles & dates from 1905 - 1925.  It's in excellent condition with no nicks, damage or repairs.
