    Description

    Here are three 1898 checks from the account of the
    Lake Superior &
    Ishpeming Railway Co.
    They were likely paychecks, all written to different people for different amounts. They are signed by H.R. Harris, the first Manager of the Railway Co. The bank is The Marquette County Savings Bank. The checks are all endorsed on the back and cancelled. Each has a red 2 cent stamp on the front. One of the checks has a torn spot, as shown in the listing photos. It's above the name of the payee. The other two are in very good condition.
